You have a chance to make money doing what you love. Let’s start your streaming career with a short guide to setting up a donation for your channel.
How do you set up donations on Twitter? I heard you ask, well, it’s easy enough if you stay long enough to know…
Why should I donate?
For many broadcasters, donations from their viewers are the main source of income, and this may also apply to you.
This is a great opportunity for your viewers to express their appreciation for your amazing content. It also allows you to spend more time creating this great content – everyone wins!
Let us rest your river and be prepared to accept donations.
It’s not as simple as adding a donation button to your profile. But we will guide you through all the steps so that you will be ready and able to accept donations quickly.
Donations received via PayPal
If you’re looking for one of the easiest ways to accept donations from Twitch, PayPal is your savior.
You will want to create a commercial PayPal account because it hides your personal data. It’s as free as a personal account.
Go to Paypal’s business area, confirm your email address and enter your company name.
It’s super easy to convert a regular account into a business account!
The most important parameter is the use of the PayPal.me link, which makes the process much more efficient. The clear design and simple user interface make connecting to PayPal.me the fastest option.
How can I encourage people to donate through this link? Try to mention it in your approach. Place a PayPal.me link in your channel’s chat and even add a donation section to your Twitch channel.
If you want more advanced settings for receiving notifications when people donate, please see below. We will show you how to integrate Paypal with other streamer services.
PayPal.me link added to your donation section
Adding a donation section to your channel is child’s play. Moreover, it will be even easier for your viewers to handle your food.
Go to your channel, click on the button on the edit bar, then click on the big + symbol, you can’t miss it.
Then you have to fill in the fields for the panel title and the description. They’re very understandable. You can add your PayPal.me link to the description and indicate why people should donate to you.
Use of images
If you want to use an image or panel, you can easily add it by changing the channel in Twitch.
Go to your channel, click the Edit Panel button and add a new panel. From there you want to upload the photo.
Tip: You can leave the header blank so that no text is added above the image.
- Click the Add Image button and upload the image you want to use.
- Then enter your URL of paypal.me.
- Add a description if you want to thank donors, tell the public how you will use the donations or sell them through a donation!
- Press the Submit button!
The Donate button is played to the end:
Receipt of Donations by Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies
The use of crypto money to send and receive money online seems to have become increasingly popular over the years. The speed, security and low transaction costs encourage many people to make more and more payments with this virtual money.
If you have an encrypted wallet, all you have to do is give the address of your wallet to another user so they can pay you. It is also super simple and easy to create your own encrypted wallet, there are many options.
How to receive crypto-donations
Bitpay is the most popular wallet application for most users and very easy to use! When you open the application, you will see a receive button, click on it.
You will then see a series of random numbers and letters. Don’t panic too much. That’s your wallet address. Copy them to use in your profile.
You can now create a donation section in your Twitch profile as described above. Enter the address of your wallet in the description and explain which crypto-currencies are in your wallet.
You can now receive Bitcoin donations!
Donations to other Twitch services Page
There are many third party services that Twitch Streamers can use to increase donations. You can link your account to these services to enable donation notifications and other features.
The most popular services are Stream Labs, Health Games and Muxy.
These services create a unique donation page for your channel on their website. You can direct your viewers to this page if you make a donation.
We will see how to set up a donation page on StreamLabs. It’s the easiest to understand and it has most of the functions, it doesn’t make sense! This makes it one of the most popular interfaces for receiving donations from Twitch.
You must first create an account with StreamLabs. You can then go to the toolbar and select the donation settings.
Then click on the PayPal option to connect your PayPal to StreamLabs. From now on, when a person makes a donation through your StreamLabs link, it will be credited to your PayPal account.
You can use other payment methods, but it is recommended to use PayPal in any case. It is the most popular and reliable way to pay on the internet.
On the donation settings page you can also select your currency and donation restrictions. Who needs the hat?!
Save the settings and you can go.
The settings page now displays the address required to receive donations.
It will look like this: https://streamlabs.com/username.
Copy this and add it to your Twitch donations section
Using StreamLabs functions in the Twitch
StreamLabs has a lot to offer when it comes to encouraging people to donate to Twitch.
You can add a Last Donor widget that displays the names of the last donors in your Twitch format.
This is a StreamLabs setting, but it only works if you are currently using a PC and not a home console. This may change in the future.
You can also use custom alerts that are activated when someone makes sacrifices so that everyone can see.
Not only will the viewer feel good, but they will also encourage other viewers to do the same!
You can customise these alerts in StreamLabs by using animated gifts or sounds. The nicer, the better! She’ll have more people sacrificed so she can see your strange alarm again!

Why donations are important
Fundraising is one of the most important ways for banners to make money. In the beginning you may feel funny when you accept donations, but you don’t sell yourself!
Your viewers understand that what you do takes time and money, and they don’t want you to stop! So give them a chance to donate and support your journey to create quality content.
Thank your donors. Call them in the feeds and keep insisting on donations, you deserve it, I promise you!
