Although the waste seems completely useless in the context of Fallout 4, it is actually unaffordable. Waste is used for many things, from modifying weapons and armour to building settlements and certain mission requirements.
Garbage is an integral part of Fallout 4, and it is important that you know where to find it, what it is used for and how to dispose of it.
There are three divisions: garbage for colonies, garbage for weapons and armor, and random garbage. These three elements can be found throughout the game, and they’re all great ways to get the components you need.
It should be noted that there are several benefits that will help you determine how much waste you will get from scrapping things and provide you with rarer components when you throw them away.
Where to find waste
Although colonies use a lot of waste as building material, in most colonies there is a lot that can be landfilled. One of the first things you have to do when working on a new colony is to bypass and throw away everything marked with yellow, because these are objects that cannot be moved or reused. Just tear them to pieces.
As the game progresses, you’ll notice that you have a lot of low-power weapons and armour that you don’t use anymore. Instead of throwing them away randomly or leaving them unused in a container, you should definitely throw them away to retain some of the rarest elements of the game.
Random waste is probably one of the most common objects in and around the post-apocalyptic city of Boston. Honestly, you don’t have to look far to find it. From cardboard cigarette boxes to table fans, they all consist of components that can be used for a variety of things.
What is the purpose of waste?
As we’ve said, waste is used for a lot of things. The most important thing about waste is that it consists of components. When waste is recycled, you get components that can be used to make and improve different things.
There are thirty-one basic ingredients, ranging from acid to wood, the most important of which are glue, copper and feathers.
When you work in the village, you use a lot of wood, metal and even concrete to build your buildings and walls. Towers and other defences also need steel, but also systems, gears and oil.
Another application is fashion for your weapons and armour. If you find a weapon you like to use, but are not quite sure how to use it, take it to a gun store and start cutting it. Various upgrades can be carried out to increase the damage, range, warehouse capacity and other factors of your weapon.
How to dispose of waste
Waste disposal is very simple. It is advisable to do this first in the workshop, which is linked to as many places as possible. So you can get the most out of the garbage you throw away.
Everything you have is automatically registered and used for construction in the village or the place connected by electricity cables.
To remove waste from the colony, simply open a workshop and go to an object in the colony that can be removed (it turns green or yellow when you look at it). If it’s yellow, all you can do is throw it away and press the discard button. If it’s green, you can get rid of it, but you can also save and move it (which saves resources if you plan to use it at any time).
To discard your weapon or armor, place the weapon or armor you wish to discard near the workshop, open the workshop and look at the item, then press the discard button.
To dispose of accidentally created waste, simply go to the workshop (found in the places) and click Send. A screen will open with your inventory and the inventory of your workshop. Click the Save All button and it will automatically be saved in your garage.
There’s an old saying that one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure. In fallow land 4 this is very true. Garbage is something you have to collect, mess around and even fight, because it will really help you to conquer the Wild Republic.
